Emerging Technologies In Public Infrastructure Conference 2018
Bridging the Gap
Welcome to the 2nd Annual IPWEA Emerging Technologies Conference for 2018. This year we have an amazing line up of keynote speakers, case studies and demonstrations in the transformative sector of Public Infrastructure.
“Bridging the gap” is commonly heard within the industry. The question is how can we close the gap between research, new technologies and convincing policy makers and the government to use the time efficient practices and integrate them into existing assets. What strategies can we use, is it through sharing of data and making it easily accessible to everyone, virtual reality and 3D modelling, autonomous cars and or the use of sensors in Smart Parking, just to name a few.
Public Infrastructure is in boom time! This industry relevant conference will run for 2 days and we encourage ‘conversation’, debate and new ideas so we can keep working towards “Bridging the gap”. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn and experience transformative trends and innovations, engage in strategies on how to influence Government and Senior Policy makers and provide input into the future planning of the Public Infrastructure sector.
IPWEA NSW is a registered charity with the purpose of advancing public works excellence in Australia, particularly in NSW by providing research, influencing government agencies at all levels and providing high quality and thought provoking forums to engage in thought provoking discussion.
Once again the conference will bring together national and local like-minded professionals across all levels of government, construction, engineers, built environment, urban planners and suppliers to engage and share thoughts, insights and practical implementation of utilising these new technologies into their existing infrastructure.
I am looking forward to catching up with colleagues both old and new and creating “conversations” that will aspire us to keep pushing the boundaries on new technology.
